Uniform Policy

At The Becket School, we aim for a straightforward and traditional approach to school uniform in order to maintain consistency and avoid the influence of passing trends. We believe that the school uniform serves two important goals: first, it promotes equality among students by minimizing differences in appearance, and second, it helps students focus on their education by reducing distractions related to fashion. Through this approach, we foster a sense of pride and unity, ensuring that every student is focused on their learning and personal development.

Becket House Badge

The Becket House Badge is to be sewn to the inner blazer pocket,
as shown, so the house colour is clearly visible.

Other Uniform Items

  • School bags should be a large plain black rucksack or fabric bag only.
  • Scarves, hats and gloves must be plain black only.
  • Trainers and boots are not allowed.
  • Coats to be plain black only and without logos and not worn in buildings.
  • The wearing of make-up is NOT allowed in school.
  • Rings or other jewellery should not be brought to school. If you wear earrings at home you should only wear one plain, silver or gold stud at school and a maximum of one stud in each ear which must be worn in the ear lobe.
  • Extremes of hairstyle or colouring are not allowed. Items to secure hair must be plain and black or silver only.
  • Glasses and contact lenses only for medical conditions.
  • False nails are not permitted and nail varnish is not to be worn.
  • Please remember to mark your clothing with your name.
