University League Tables

University League Tables are updated annually to reflect the strength of different aspects of university life. While there main purpose is to showcase academic strength they also focus upon entry standards (average UCAS points), student satisfaction and graduate opportunities.

When looking at League Tables it is important to compare and contrast and not just look at one in isolation as they differ and there is movement from year to year within the tables.

A word of warning, League Tables do not do is take into consideration personal preference for a particular location or course. Universities are also very good at finding their best selling points. Use them with caution as an additional form of research information when making the final five choices for your UCAS application.

There are a selection of League Tables worth looking at ranging from Russell Group institutions to those focusing on World Rankings and more informal rankings which provide information on tuition fees and accommodation.
