What Does the Student Council Do?

The Student Council acts as a bridge between the student body and the school administration. Our aim is to make sure every student has a voice and that their ideas can help shape school life.

Our main responsibilities include:

• Representing You: Taking your suggestions, concerns and ideas to the Head of Council, Miss Pyne, and other members of staff.
• Organising Events: Planning enrichment weeks, charity fundraisers and exciting activities that bring our school community together.
• Improving School Life: Identifying areas that need improvement, putting forward ideas and helping secure funding for positive changes.
• Building a Safe and Caring Community: Promoting a school environment where every student feels safe, included, respected and heard.

Thanks to your feedback, ideas and our team’s dedication, we’ve helped make our school a better place this year. Here are some of the improvements we’ve achieved together:

• Enhancing Our School Menus: Worked  with the Aspens catering team to offer pupils a wider choice of nutritious, balanced and delicious meals.
• Vibrant Culture Day: Launched a school-wide celebration of our diverse backgrounds, featuring traditional food, music and clothing.
• New Water Fountain: Helped secure funding for an additional water fountain in the atrium, giving students more opportunities to stay hydrated.

October 2026 — Improving Our School Environment

Work is continuing on the refurbishment of our student toilets as we look at further ways to improve our facilities and create an even better environment for our school community.

September 2026 — Autumn Term Meetings

Our regular weekly Student Council meetings have officially begun! Meeting minutes are uploaded to the school noticeboard every Friday so students can keep up with what we discuss.

July 2026 — Colour Run & Teacher Run

We organised the Colour Run and Teacher Run to raise money for a new water fountain and other school improvements. Thank you to everyone who took part and supported us!

April 2026 — Easter Raffle

Our Easter raffle was a great success, raising over £200! Thank you to everyone who bought tickets and helped support our fundraising efforts.
