At The Becket School, we are privileged to both serve and be served by many parishes within the Nottingham Diocese. A list of these churches, with links to their parish websites, can be found below. We share a particularly close relationship with our neighbouring parish, The Parish of the Annunciation in Rushcliffe. Throughout the academic year, parishioners and families are invited to join us in school as well as our students visiting the churches within the parish:
During our school enrichment week in the Pentecost term, we take great joy in leading multiple year groups to Holy Spirit Church in West Bridgford for Mass, celebrated with our wonderful local clergy, Fr John Martin and Fr Evarist.
Students at The Becket are offered unique opportunities to experience diverse events within the Church’s liturgical calendar, such as the Chrism Mass, the St Bernadette Relic Tour, and, this year, we will also participate in the Aid to the Church in Need Mass. We always strive to give students leadership roles within Church celebrations and involve them in the planning of liturgical events, fostering both their confidence and faith.
Our school is proud to join the Nottingham Diocese to CYMFED’s Flame event in London and on the annual pilgrimage to Lourdes. The Lourdes pilgrimage is an opportunity for our students to put their faith into action through supporting elderly is less able pilgrims, ensuring that they can fully participate in the spiritual activities. The Becket School also hosts the pilgrimage preparation day for the Nottingham Diocese and often hosts the departure Mass for the youth contingent.
