Consultation on faith school transport – share your views

Nottinghamshire County Council is currently consulting on proposed changes to its discretionary support for faith-based school transport, which could have significant implications for our families and access to Catholic education.

These services are used by many of our pupils. For many families, they are essential; for others, they play an important role in maintaining access to Catholic education across our wider community.

The proposals could:

  • Reduce or remove some existing transport routes
  • Increase costs for families
  • Impact how pupils travel to Catholic schools

Even if your child does not use school transport, there may still be wider implications for access to Catholic education, sustaining pupil numbers and the long-term strength of our school community.

The following buses could be affected: 441, 442, 447, 448, 449 and 681

No final decision has been made but it is vital that as many families as possible share their views. Your response could support families across our schools and make a real difference to future access to Catholic education.

We strongly encourage you to take a few minutes and submit your response by Friday 12 June: Give your views

The Becket schools position is that we will be supporting option 1 – no change to the discretionary policy
