Careers, Progress and UCAS Leader (Maternity Cover)

Contract: 34.5 hours per week (term time only + 1 week) 

Band: OLOL Band 4, NJC Scale Points 11 – 17

Salary: Actual Salary Band £17,860 to £20,113

Start date: January 2022

About the role:

Required from January 2022 for maternity cover. You will work closely with outside agencies and local businesses to provide guidance to students in Year 7-13 on careers, and Further and Higher Education. As part of the post 16 team, you will help promote positive attitudes to learning, supporting students, and providing intervention strategies where appropriate and will provide guidance and assistance with applications to Higher Education and the world of work.

Applicants must have admin experience, excellent IT skills (Microsoft Office and web-based applications) and a minimum of 5 GCSEs including English and Maths (Grade C or above) or equivalent. You will need to be able to demonstrate initiative, the ability to work independently and exceptional organisational and presentation skills. Previous experience mentoring Post 16 students and an understanding of the UCAS application process would be a definite advantage.

Behaviour Support Worker

The Becket School requires an experienced and highly motivated Behaviour Support Worker to supervise and administrate the Removal Room for students who have temporarily been withdrawn from class due to disruption in lessons.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be ICT literate and be able to demonstrate experience of managing quiet and calm and/or challenging environments.

The successful candidate will: 

  • supervise and administrate the Removal Room for students who have temporarily been withdrawn from class due to disruption in lessons
  • analyse behaviour trends and communicate these with key members of staff.
  • provide pastoral support to Progress Leaders including the investigation of behavioural incidents.
