Teaching Assistant
Band 2, SCP 11-15 (actual starting salary £5,050pa)

Required immediately, an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a passion for working with young people. This role requires working closely with our young people offering support with their learning. You should have a calm manner, with a cheerful disposition. Previous experience is desirable but not essential for this role. The Becket School is a heavily over-subscribed and highly successful Catholic Voluntary Academy, part of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Multi-Academy Trust.

Teaching Assistant Level 1 Job Description

Careers, Progress and UCAS Leader (maternity cover)
Band 4, SCP 21-25 pro rata, Actual Starting Salary £16,604pa
34.5 Hours a week, term time plus 1 week

Required February 2019 for maternity cover. You will work closely with outside agencies and local businesses to provide guidance to students in Year 7-13 on careers, and Further and Higher Education. As part of the post 16 team, you will help promote positive attitudes to learning, supporting students and providing intervention strategies where appropriate and will provide guidance and assistance with applications to Higher Education and the world of work.

Applicants must have admin experience, excellent IT skills (Microsoft Office and web based applications) and a minimum of 5 GCSEs including English and Maths (Grade C or above) or equivalent. You will need to be able to demonstrate initiative, the ability to work independently and exceptional organisational and presentation skills. Previous experience mentoring Post 16 students and an understanding of the UCAS application process would be a definite advantage.
