“I have been a leading teacher for maths and enjoyed working with other practitioners from my own and other schools to improve maths provision. I am very much looking forward to working with colleagues from other settings to develop the teaching and learning of maths and provide better outcomes for all children.”
Cara’s area of expertise is primary maths and she has successfully led the development of this subject across schools, working closely with all teaching staff to deepen their understanding and quality of learning and teaching. Cara is a member of the Senior Leadership Team at Blessed Robert Widmerpool. She has exceptional subject knowledge, which is enhanced by her qualified Mathematics Specialist Teacher status. She is meticulous at keeping up-to-date with new initiatives, research and uses within her own practice. Cara is experienced at leading training events for staff in schools. In her school to school support work, she has supported schools with an Ofsted grading of ‘Requires Improvement’. In this work she has led training sessions to focus on problem-solving, supported data analysis; assessment of learning over time through work scrutiny, learning walks, action research and analysis of the mathematical environments. Cara is experienced at developing leadership in others to improve Maths within primary schools and is an overall outstanding primary practitioner.
